Yesterday we hosted our annual Don Coupe Memorial meet, named in honour of life member Don Coupe. Don was an advocate of inclusivity in the sport, competing into his 80’s showing that age really is no barrier!

A huge thank you to all the swimmers, families, coaches and officials that attended our meet. We hope that you all enjoyed the experience and hospitality that our club provided. Whilst we may be “little” in size, we are “large” at heart.

To our families, thank you for all your assistance in setting up, the running of and packing up after the meet. A special shout of to Jeff, Karen and Connie for the generous donation of the bread, the Moe Fruit Shop for their donation of delicious fruit and veg, to Lahrra from Bling 51 for supplying refreshments and to Gippsland free range eggs for providing all the eggs for our delicious Bacon and Egg sandwiches.

To our kids. You guys rock. For our first time competitors, you all showed great courage and maturity in the way you approached your events. To our more experienced competitors, thank you for encouraging all our swimmers and managing and executing your events with expertise.

Thank you to the Gippsland Flippers and Coupe family for attending and holding the paired race in memory of Don. We hope that more adults were inspired to start or continue their swimming journey.

A big congratulations to Noah, Will, Connor, Lachlan, Zane, Eve and Nina who all swam in the skins event. Noah won the 12&u event, whilst Will came in 3rd.

Congratulations to our mate from Sale, Zayden, who was the winner of the luck square $100 Rebel voucher.

Lastly, thank you to Latrobe Leisure for getting the pool to the pristine condition it was in yesterday.

Also, how great do our kids look in their KonQa uniform and Funkita Funky Trunks team bathers?! ❤️🐧🏊🏼‍♂️🏊🏼‍♀️

Well done Moe Swimming Club on a great meeting yesterday just perfect..

Well done for hosting a great meet 👏

Fabulous meet on a great day (unusual weather for this meet!) and apparently, the water felt wonderful. Thank you so much Moe SC for welcoming us and our crazy swim, which we adore, just like we adored Don. 💜 With thanks from Gippsland Flippers.

What a stunning place to go . My rebirth as a swimmer. I'd due to my family purchasing swimming tickets. And the effort put in by the staff. All people in Moe and surrounding district should now take advantage of the pool.

*UPDATE 2.0*
Zane swam a strong race in his free and came away with a PB and a State Age qualifying time.

Jasper was the last swim of the day and after 3 days of waiting he smashed out his Breaststroke right on his PB time.

Great work from all all the boys and special mention to our other swimmers, Lola, Arlo and Alexis who were a great cheer squad.

Another PB and 7th place for Noah!

Day 3 of the Victorian Country Long Course Championships.

Due to the cancellation of yesterdays finals, Noah was first off the mark this morning with his 100m Breaststroke final. He PB’d and placed 7th overall.

Noah will swim the 100m Butterfly final also this morning.

Later in the day Jasper will be swimming in his first countries event in the 11&u 50m Breaststroke, whilst Zane will be swimming in the 14-15 year old 100m Freestyle.

Best of luck boys!!!

You can watch live via Swim TV.
